Wicked Pictures is a long-running studio that kept making feature-length adult films while most of the industry moved to short scenes. The films have scripts, characters and designed sets, with the sex scenes placed inside the story. That’s a different way to watch, and it only suits some people.

What it does well

Story is the point. Productions have dialogue, sets built for the film and a plot running between scenes. The studio built its name on contract performers, which gave the brand a recognisable cast, and it has won industry awards for the kind of work that assumes a film matters beyond the sex.

Production values are higher than average. You may not like the format, but the lighting, camera work and set design show more care than a typical gonzo shoot. Recent output has adapted somewhat, and shorter content now sits alongside the features.

The catches

Length is the obstacle. A feature takes real time, so if you have ten minutes it offers little. The pacing differs from scene-based sites, and many viewers find the format dated now that short clips are what most people watch.

The library is smaller than a scene-based network’s. Films take longer to make than clips, so volume can’t compete, and quality varies by era across the archive. The film ambition also invites comparison with real cinema budgets, which adult production can’t match.
